AWD Problematic Items - List them here!
Generally AWD does a pretty decent job at selling stuff in good shape. However, occasionally they screw up and I return a box full of broken glass that was supposed to be a vase. Or an incorrect item. Or I got 12 combs when it was supposed to be 2,000 or something.

In the off chance that one of us returns an item, then one of us might see it pop back up again, post your problematic items here! I know the chances are slim but hey, maybe it'll only serve to help me remember which ones to stay away from myself :)

I'll start in the next post...

- Invicta 12355. Little bit beat up and doesn't run.

- Invicta 6749. Stay away from these! Left "day" dials are all floating around inside the case.

- Invicta 16938. Not the correct watch and it was broken like the above ones anyway.

(yeah. think I'm done with Invicta)

- Swiss Legend 40012-22S-RN. Box is falling apart, watch runs but looks well worn and beat.

- ACDelco 15794597 Alternator. Box looks like it was run over by a car. And small plastic pieces are broken off it.

- Alfi AB2038-PSS Faucet. Broken in two near the base.

- Toponeware CKRDW6 Ceramic knife. tip is broken off inside the package and floating around.

- Kraus KHU101-23-KPF1622-KSD30SN sink & faucet, I was really looking forward to this one!! Missing the faucet :(

- Afire Himalayan Salt Plate. Broken in two

- Prestige PPA5L pressure cooker. Black plastic is broken

- Walker 250-24154 Oxygen Sensor. Pretty sure the previous guy swapped out his old one for this one. Looks well used in a car's exhaust.

- Lipper International 8191 Bamboo Expandable 16-Inch Drawer Organizer. Broken into pieces

- Chevy silverado mirror. Wrong mirror. Looks like it's for a car doesn't even look close.

Amazon won't let me look at my returns further than about 6 weeks... Any idea where to see older ones? I'll add more!

Hey guys, here's some more!!!

Lucien Piccard LP-10503-02-BR watch. One of the pieces on the face is loose and floating around.

Ambient weather plaque thing. Don't buy this, it's JUST the wooden part behind! No instruments! Misleading listing.

Darice, 1103-081, Studio 71, 159 Piece All Media Art Set. Set seems fine, very heavy and nice. But case is cheap/splitting apart.

Siemens Q22020CT2 Breaker. I ordered a few of these and many were defective. Stuck switch, broken plastic, etc.

Dynarex Combs, 5 Inches, Black, 180 Count (Pack of 12). Yeah no... this is not 180 x 12. I had three orders. One was 180, one was 12, and another was 24 I think? :(

General things I've learned to stay away from in AWD:

- Large glass items
- Light bulbs (non-LED), you'll get a few of them but Amazon will usually either offer a 20% refund or return. Not adjust for 5/8 broken ones.
- Light fixtures with glass shades/pieces.
- Items with a lot of parts. Almost sure to be missing one thing.
- Items that would be difficult to test/inventory. Picture a $8.50/hr guy opening a box and looking in. Try to see his perspective. Does he know what he's looking at? If you think "no", you're taking a risk!
- Complex electrical items
- Tools or items with a lot of little parts or screws/nuts/etc i.e.. drill bit set or a bracket with a lot of bolts/nuts
- Lots of car parts, especially heavy ones that will destroy their box. Brake pads/drums will almost always be chipped. Alternators, water pumps, anything with "fins" i.e.. heater cores, radiators will be bent.
- Conversely, really light car parts i.e.. head gasket seals. Anything delicate looking. It'll be bent/torn/crushed

Just my pieces of advice.... feel free to add something, guys!

VTech IS7101 handset. Ordered a few of these and some were missing batteries, banged up inside the box, scuffed etc. Returned the bad ones kept good ones :)

I have a ton of slow-shipped (for the $5 credit) AWD items coming in soon from PrimeDay.  Hopefully I won't have to post anything in the thread, but good work :)

Here's some more bad stuff...

Gates 43505 water pump. Looks like someone cut it open and sealed it back together. Screws missing too.

Dorman 901-328 window switch. Works fine but it's scuffed.

Heating Pad. Should have known it didn't come with the igloo. Was for my cats!

Sunpentown SPT SH-1507 Ceramic heater. Nice little heater, heavy, smells like it's going to burn down the house.

Some more bad items...

Pulsar PPH104 watch. Doesn't work. Prob just a batt.

Stuhrling 266.33561 watch. Works great, one decorative screw is missing. Also, a review just a week ago states the same issue. Screw wasn't in the box.

Stack-on PDS-500 drawer safe. I knew I was taking a risk on this well-reviewed safe buying from AWD due to weight. Indeed, weight crushed parts of it, broke the plastic pieces off, smushed the keys into the lock, etc.

Andis 70225 Number 31-23 blades. Covered in cut hair. nuff said.

Citizen AT8010-58E watch. Really cool watch. Doesn't work at all.

Bad luck with watches lately....

Two more Citizen watches! They simply don't move. Tried everything. AU1044-58E and CA4088-00E

Invicta 1091. Winds up and doesn't go.

Smith & Wesson SWW-357-BSS TRITIUM watch! I was so excited for this! Seems to work fine but has a hair inside the dial face. wtf

Senville 9000 BTU Split Unit A/C. Only got the head. Looks like other people were missing stuff too.

DragonPad 4-pack of fake cameras. Only got one.

Swing-a-way can opener. Not made in USA and not the same one as the photo! A Chinese counterfeit or copy. Piece of crap. (actually got this new!)

Garmin Oregon 450t GPS Handheld thing. Actually a nice little device. Lines across the screen so it's basically unusable.

When I purchase breakable items (bowls, glasses, mirrors, etc), there's a 50/50 chance it will arrive broken. Amazon doesn't seem to always take as much care in packaging/protecting AWD items.

I heard that if you return too many items, you'll be permanently banned from Amazon. That worries me. I sincerely only return things that are broken, and I don't want to be penalized for Amazon's or the shipper's errors.

I've heard from someone that it's most likely a total dollar-based threshold.  For instance, if you return 3 new Macbook Airs in a row you might get the axe.  But, if you return 200 $10 items you'll be okay.

Yes, the somewhat mysterious return thresholds are part of the reason I wanted to make this thread!

I never return anything that isn't broken, wrongly described or missing parts. I would hope that Amazon is less strict given that our purchases here are primarily warehouse deal items, so therefore a far higher likelihood of returns, but I have no evidence to suggest that they are any less strict :(

If you like, add some of the broken things you've returned here as well, so we don't bounce the broken stuff from forker to forker :)

Someone on slickdeals said he was warned for returning too many items, and now no longer gets any response when there's a problem with an order. He said that the items he returned were all AWD ones. That's what got me nervous. I assumed Amazon was more lenient with warehouse deals seeing as how it's not that unusual for their items to have issues.

I'll check my amazon order history later and post items that were broken or were missing parts.

Do you have a link to that thread/post?

I do wish Amazon was more transparent with their customer metrics.  Much like how you can see your seller rating, it'd be nice if you could see your "buyer rating".  I suppose that would be bad for customer relations though.

I'm pretty sure the comment was in the AWD thread, but I can't seem to find it for some reason.
