Bill,

Unfortunately photobucket screwed with all their clients and tried for a cash grab. Try posting your pictures on imgur and we'll be happy to help you with your trusty forklift.

Regards,
mac

General Discussion / Re: Tape Comparison
« on: March 04, 2016, 06:50:42 pm »
So looks like most 2.0 mil is bad. Sparco is 2.1. So how about this one?

http://www.amazon.com/Intertape-T901400-Acrylic-Carton-Sealing/dp/B00BT2H6LY/ref...

Intertape is a good brand. Anyone want to plop $35 down and see if it's any good?

EDIT: Just noticed it's only 55 yard, not 110 yard. So $2/roll is pretty much the same price Sparco is at right now. Might still be worth a try.

General Discussion / Tape Comparison

Everyone loved that Sparco tape. But not at $12-14 for a 6-pack.

I tried to find other tape that would do the job. If anyone has anything to add, please do.

So I went out to find other tape that was 2 mil and well reviewed. I failed. My comparison is below.

Presenting, this tape.

It looks and feels, unwrapped, just like Sparco tape! I was so excited! It says it's 2 mil, Sparco is 2.1, not bad right? Great reviews and even better price! Initial comp below:

Sparco vs this tape:

From above:

Width is NEARLY the same. Which would make sense - 2 vs. 2.1 mil. Good sign so far!
vs.

Weight of 6 wrapped rolls also very close:
vs.

Unwrapping Sparco tape is a pain. The rolls don't separate easily and the plastic comes off in 8 pieces. Unwrapping this was super easy. Good sign too?

Single roll weight:
vs.

... And they even look the same in photos. Good transparency and decent adhesive. However, this tape is very thin and light feeling. It moves easily with wind and flexes too easily. Like, when you touch it, it sorta wraps around your finger, vs. the Sparco which will stay a little more straight. It's nearly impossible to explain without being in person. There is something about Sparco tape that has a certain amount of "rigidity" in addition to the stickiness. Maybe the rigid feel is created by its adhesive.

This tape, on the LEFT above, feels like those regular cheap rolls you get on any bulk ebay buy. I have probably 100 of them in a box from before I got tired of taping everything twice and switched to Sparco when everyone else did. I can still use this tape for some stuff, and for backup, but for now, I'll continue to work off my Sparco stash. :(

Bug Reports / Re: Some items don't show

It's probably your filters? i.e.. % off threshold is too high, or that category isn't selected?

It can take awhile to get your filters right where you want them. If the price went up it can disappear from your feed depending on which thresholds you've set.

So I guess I'm the only person who returns anything! Here's some more,

Invicta 17580 crap watch. Just doesn't work. And papers are all smushed.

Kingston 8gb stick, pc3-10600. Not kingston branded... and not the same specs. Looks like someone swapped it out.

Makita 721107-6A blade. Not even remotely similar to this blade and in some really old packaging. The one they sent was 4-tooth of some weird sort.

The AWD gods have been good to me lately! Only two things in the past month..

Not Rated Women's Caspar Shoes, 9.5. Way too narrow for a 9.5.

Valeo 52255002 Clutch Kit. Looks like some scammer swapped in his used kit. Super dirty and definitely worn. You seriously needed your $100 that badly??

Remember, returns are open til end of Jan now!! Woohoooo

Feature Requests / Re: costumes.

Maybe that's a good idea in general, like, a feature in the existing instant-search field which you can put "negative" keywords in, so as items stream in, horsehead masks don't show up if you have that typed in?

Yes, the somewhat mysterious return thresholds are part of the reason I wanted to make this thread!

I never return anything that isn't broken, wrongly described or missing parts. I would hope that Amazon is less strict given that our purchases here are primarily warehouse deal items, so therefore a far higher likelihood of returns, but I have no evidence to suggest that they are any less strict :(

If you like, add some of the broken things you've returned here as well, so we don't bounce the broken stuff from forker to forker :)

Senville 9000 BTU Split Unit A/C. Only got the head. Looks like other people were missing stuff too.

DragonPad 4-pack of fake cameras. Only got one.

Swing-a-way can opener. Not made in USA and not the same one as the photo! A Chinese counterfeit or copy. Piece of crap. (actually got this new!)

Garmin Oregon 450t GPS Handheld thing. Actually a nice little device. Lines across the screen so it's basically unusable.

I had like 5 minutes this morning while waiting for something so I took more pictures of Beats

Why do I do this? What do I intend to show? Is Beats just an excuse to take pictures of random stuff and share them to a forum that 3 people look at? What is my life coming to?

This morning, Beats was very helpful with some morning chores. My morning with my Beats:

Helping with tire sorting...

Yard work. So many leaves lately! Thanks, Beats!

Working on the siding. It'll take a beating this winter!

Taking a break on the lawnmower to admire some garage art

Back to work in the driveway!

After a hard morning's work, some good salmon bagel breakfast.. yummy

Bad luck with watches lately....

Two more Citizen watches! They simply don't move. Tried everything. AU1044-58E and CA4088-00E

Invicta 1091. Winds up and doesn't go.

Smith & Wesson SWW-357-BSS TRITIUM watch! I was so excited for this! Seems to work fine but has a hair inside the dial face. wtf
